That's right, ladies and gentlemen - it's time to buckle down and have THE BIG MEETING, also known as the What-Do-I-Pack-Where-Are-We-Going-How-Do-I-Prepare-What's-Going-On Meeting. Here's the info -

THURSDAY, APRIL 23rd - STUDY DAY

This, my friends, is a Big Important Meeting, and you WILL be there. If you are absolutely unable to make it, please contact Dr. Berg with a list of humiliating things that you are willing to do in order to make it up to us.
Covered in this meeting will be information about packing restrictions (including the fact that checked luggage can weigh no more than 50 lbs), course information, flight information, and tips for happy and healthy traveling.
This meeting is actually SO important, that I am going to go ahead and tell you again where and when it is.

Baggage Infomation
Important Stuff below:
Let me know if you have any questions about this.
They are strict about the weight of baggage, and there is a charge if a bag goes over 50 lb.
You are personally responsible for carrying your own luggage while on the tour. This includes on the train and boats on the fjord so think about that when packing.
There is a place for the luggage while you travel on the train and boats, but not alot.
I've outlined the restrictions on carrying liquids on board the flights below.
You will have meal service on the SAS flights. dinner Chicago-Copenhagen (this is a late one), with a light meal before arriving Cop.
Lunch and dinner on the return Cop-Chicago.
Checked baggage:
International flights between Scandinavia and the USA
Each passenger is allowed 2 pieces of checked baggage.
Economy Class: Maximum permitted weight 50 lbs per piece.
Maximum overall size per piece (length+ width+ height) 62 in
Carry on:
Be aware of regulations regarding liquids in cabin baggage. The restriction for liquids carried through security check at airport applies until further notice. Liquid and gel-based products such as healthcare products and cosmetics may be carried in cabin baggage as long as they comply with the following regulations:
Containers with liquids and similar products may contain up to 3 oz.
All containers must be carried in a transparent resealable plastic bag with a maximum capacity of one quart. One bag per person. The bag must be presented separately at the security check .

1 piece of cabin baggage. Max. weight 17 lbs. NOTE: length + width + height must not exceed 45 inches

A few things
Greetings everyone!
We are getting close to our big trip to Denmark and Norway.
I need a few things from all of you and a few things from just some of you.

Please email me your date of birth (day,month and year) I need this for the travel agency.
Send the information to Eric.Berg@mac.edu
If anyone has special dietary needs (vegetarian, vegan, allergies, etc) please let me know ASAP. I will pass this information on to our agent.
If you have a United frequent flyer # you can give that to me also and I will pass it on.
Philosophy Students:
You should start to get familiar with our material soon.
Please purchase the following books and read them (yes, the whole book!).
On Kierkegaard by Susan Anderson
Hunger by Knut Hamsun
